This is the public FTP site for Stratus Technologies, Inc. This server is maintained by Stratus as a public service to its customers. Since the FTP site is available to everyone, it MUST NOT be used for sensitive or confidential corporate information. Additionally, the site is NOT an appropriate place for you to place something for a specific customer, or for the customer to place something for you. The current public directory structure contains: /cac /ftserver /info-stratus /network /vos Each of these contain files and/or directories for the specific area of interest. Each also contains a directory called "incoming" where anyone can place files. The protections on the "incoming" directory allow files to be written there, but not read. Protections on all other directories allow files to be read, but not written. (Note: /pub/cac/incoming is the exception to these rules. See /cac/README.txt for details.) In order for files to be moved from the "incoming" directory to another directory one of the site administrators must examine the material and, if it meets our guidelines, move it to an appropriate readable place in the directory structure. Since all of us are volunteers, this doesn't always happen immediately. The guidelines for the FTP site are simple: for programs, source must be provided, and free distribution must be allowed. For other types of information, the material must not be sensitive or confidential, and free distribution must be allowed. In either case, a README file explaining the contents of the submission is appropriate, as is a makefile or a command macro to help people build any programs. And finally, when you submit something, please send one of us a note so we can move it for you. We DO NOT ACCEPT unsolicited binary files.
